Take a Good Look Around

The lyrics to Trace Atkins’ song “You’re Gonna Miss This” really hit me. My oldest son has left for college. I realize how quickly time has flown by. Often we don’t realize that these are and how important it is to take a good look around and really appreciate it.

You’re gonna miss this
You’re gonna want this back
You’re gonna wish these days hadn’t gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you’re gonna miss this

I can empathize - my little brother is also leaving for college this year. It’s amazing how quickly the time flies. He used to be my kid brother, and now he’s going to be out there on his own.

Well very right indeed, I’ve been working so hard, studying and body building, that last week I’ve stopped everything, and never felt any happier or healthier. Now I on plan having a Good Time ever month for at least for a week. And unselfishness is cure on it’s own.

This is a philosophical question. When people get older, it does indeed seem that the time flies past faster and with huge speed but that’s an illusion because as we get older, we don’t experience new feelings, don’t learn as much and the life becomes a routine. Also, memories come in huge quantities and may make the distant past as bright as yesterday.
So what I always say is that remembering the past is good but enjoying the present is also important.
