The Monkey’s Paw

When I was younger, I heard a story called The Monkey’s Paw. It was told around a campfire and it was about a man who had acquired the hand of a monkey. It was said that the monkey’s paw gave you three wishes but as you went through the story you found out that the wishes came with a terrible cost. When the man wished for a sum of money, he received it from life insurance, after his son died in a gruesome accident at work. The underlying message was that the man was greedy and it was because of the wish, that his son died.
To this day, when I want something, I wonder “at what cost?” Can you imagine what effect this has had on my prosperity consciousness? I have to stop and tell myself that the universe does not work this way. I have to stop and tell myself that the Universe is abundant and that there is more than enough for me and anyone else. What about you? What baggage do you carry? Do you remember “ money doesn’t grow on trees” “you have to work hard for a living” or “rich people are greedy”?
If you are having trouble reaching your prosperity goals you may want to take a look at some of your underlying, sometimes subconscious beliefs about money and prosperity. It may be time for some new ideas, a new prosperity consciousness.

Yes what baggage are you carrying? Most people do not aware that their mental baggage that they wrongfully carry had a adverse effect on their way of life and wealth. No matter how hard they work, life is scarce. We need to believe life is abundance and enough for all.

When we talk about goal setting with our clients we use Christopher Howards CREATE formula.
C - Concise and Clear
R - Realistic
E - Ecological and Exact
A - Accessable and As Now
T - Times, Toward Positive
E - End Step
Ecological is the one I was thinking of reading your post. Always make sure that what you wish for is safe to you, safe to others and safe to the environment.

Excuse me for being pedantic. Surely you mean we should look at some of our underlying, sometimes subconscious beliefs about money and prosperity. Not, the beliefs we have after we’ve been knocked too hard on the head. ie unconscious
As Homer Simpson would say, Doh!!!
Thanks KC - you are absolutely right and I have changed it from unconscious to subconscious.
