Who you are

I was reading Thoughts of A Philosophical Fighter Pilot by Jim Stockdale when I came across this quote. “Epictetus tells people of all centuries what I’ve come to believe is the truth: That the essence of yourself, your inner self, is totally what you make it.”
the essence of yourself, your inner self, is totally what you make it.
This is what personal development is all about. Making your inner self. Today, who you are, is the sum total of all the little actions and decisions you have made yesterday and the days before. Not happy with who you are? That’s OK, because who you will be is the sum total of all the little actions and decisions you will make today and the days ahead.
Here is another quote by Epictetus
“First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you have to do. No man is free who is not master of himself.”

It is all about the “sum total of all the little actions and decisions” I believe if people focused on this little truth the world would be a much better place.
Good one,

I agree with “Today, who you are, is the sum total of all the little actions and decisions you have made yesterday” so we have to make our action and decision properly
