Getting the success you want

I was reading a fantastic interview by Chris McCombs on Kickbacklife.com . He was interviewing Bob Doyle of Wealth Beyond Reason and The Secret.
There is a lot of great material in this interview but what really impacted me was this quote talking about .

“If a person has a vision for themselves and they know all this stuff intellectually, and they are doing all the stuff they are “supposed to do,” like they are making lists of things, they’re getting clear on their goals, they’re meditating or doing visualization and they’re still not getting the results they want, it’s because they have resistance on some level.” Bob Doyle

This may be tough to do, but if you are not having the success you want then you have to decide whether you are doing the things you need to do, like getting clear on your goals, etc. If you are not doing what you need to do, in order to be the person you want to be, in order to have the success you want, then that itself is a sure sign of resistance. When you say to yourself “I know what I should be doing BUT…” this is a sure sign of resistance. So how to deal with resistance?

Here’s another excellent interview, this time Chris Attwood of healthywealthynwise.com interviews Dr Joe Vitale.

What happens is we have a lot of beliefs about deservingness. We have beliefs about following our passions. We have beliefs about what we can earn and how we can make money doing a particular thing. Those beliefs are what put us in a box and put a lid on our experience. My own understanding is that once I take care of the beliefs that are in the way of me making money by following my passion, then I make money following my …..
How do you find the beliefs within yourself that need to be changed so you can live a life of passion and make a great deal of money, if that’s what you want from following your passion? I say they’re not so hard to find. “I say that you sit and you ask yourself some reflective questions like, “What might be some beliefs that would keep me from making money from my passion?” At first there may be nothing that shows up, but if you sit with it in a meditative type way, a belief will come up. It will probably be some of the general cultural ones like money is evil. Money, of course, is not evil.” Joe Vitale

Another way to deal with resistance is EFT(Emotional Freedom Technique). Back to the Chris McCombs’ interview with Bob Doyle:

“And so, those belief systems, and those negative feelings act as resistance, and they literally repel whatever it is that you were trying to attract in terms of your goal achievement. So, to get rid of that, you basically have to work directly on those energy systems that are the resistance. There are several ways to do that. The processes that you use to do that are basically referred to as releasing techniques. And there are several. The one that we use, in the “Wealth Beyond Reason” program is – and I recommend and do a lot of work with – is EFT, which is Emotional Freedom Technique.” Bob Doyle

is based on a theory that negative emotions are caused by disturbances in the body’s energy field. Tapping on the meridians while thinking of a negative emotion alters the body’s energy field, restoring it to balance. EFT is based on the same energy meridians used in traditional acupuncture to treat emotional and physical ailments but without the needles. More on EFT later.

Success - Quote of the Day

“Success is the point where your most authentic talents, passion, values, and experiences intersect with the chance to contribute to some . ”

“”I’m doing this because I want to change the planet and I want to do it with you…”

- Bill Strickland

Bill Strickland established Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild in 1968 to help combat the effects of economic and social devastation experienced by the youth of his inner-city Pittsburgh neighborhood. Just as the introduction to art had helped to change the course of his life, Strickland hoped art would inspire similar change in his community. Located in a residential row house, Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild initially offered informal ceramics classes and a small exhibition space. For more information click here

Neuroplasticity

Here are some great quotes about brain plasticity - researchers are finding more evidence about the relationship between exercise, physical and mental health. Exercise your body, exercise your brain, exercise your mind.

“Brain Plasticity - Refers to how circuits in the brain change–organize and reorganize–in response to experience, or sensory stimulation. Periods of rapid change or plasticity occur in the brain under four main conditions: when the immature brain first begins to process sensory information (developmental plasticity); second, when changes in the body, like a problem with eyesight, alter the balance of sensory activity received by the brain (activity-dependent plasticity); third, when we alter our behavior based on new sensory information (plasticity of learning and memory), and fourth, following damage to the brain (injury-induced plasticity). Scientists believe that the same brain mechanisms underlie all four types of plasticity: adjustments in the strength of connections, or synapses, between brain cells.”
Center for Child Health and Development

“For decades, it was assumed by many neuroscientists that adult humans had a “hardwired” brain that did not generate new cells and could not significantly change.” from Slate.com

“The most important take home message about brain health is that we now know that no matter what your brain status or age, there is much you can do to significantly improve brain function and slow brain aging.” from Sharp Brains

“What you think and imagine can change the structure of the brain.” Dr. Norman Doidge, author of The Brain that Changes Itself

“The environment plays a key role in influencing plasticity. In addition to genetic factors, the brain is shaped by the characteristics of a person’s environment and by the actions of that same person.” from Brain Plasticity: What Is It?

“Golden Moments of Choice are possible because your brain is always changing (that’s called neuroplasticity). The changes are either by default as it interacts with your environment or deliberately as it interacts with your mind. Your brain can either be randomly molded by external circumstances or artistically sculpted by your . Which do you think leads to an intentional-and self-directed life—letting your brain be rewired by outside forces, or ensuring that the brain rewire is an inside operation?” from Exercise Mind Hygiene On A Daily Basis

What you think and imagine can change the the structure of your brain; how you think and how you feel. But in order to choose this change, direct this change and artistically sculpt this change, you must interact with awareness rather than react without conscious choice. For me, this is what and self improvement is all about.

Synchrodestiny

When you live your life with an appreciation of coincidences and their meanings, you connect with the underlying field of possibilities. This is where the magic begins. This is a state I call , in which it becomes possible to achieve the spontaneous fulfillment of our every desire. Synchrodestiny requires gaining access to a place deep within yourself, while at the same time awakening to the intricate dance of coincidences out in the physical world. It requires understanding the profound nature of things, recognizing the wellspring of intelligence that endlessly creates our universe and yet having the intention to pursue specific opportunities for change as they appear.” The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire by Deepak Chopra

Spontaneous fulfillment of our every desire. I’m not sure if we could live in a world with spontaneous fulfillment of every desire. Chaos would rein supreme. But I do think that as we begin to become more aware of the underlying coincidences (often opportunity knocks very, very quietly) we can get better at manifesting our desires (intentions).
