“We consider enjoyment to have two primary components; appreciation and gratitude. To fully enjoy something, we must first appreciate it, like it, savor it. This is fun, of course, but when we add the second element - gratitude - we add thankfulness to the appreciation and have full, rounded, heartfelt enjoyment.”
Wealth 101: Getting What You Want-Enjoying What You’ve Got by John-Roger and Peter McWilliams

“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” Oprah Winfrey

“Who does not thank for little will not thank for much.” Estonian proverb

states that you attract to your life whatever you give your energy, attention and focus. With appreciation and you are focusing on what you have. The more you are grateful, the more you will attract to be grateful for. Look at the people you know that are successful. Is gratitude part of their success?

An important aspect of gratitude is the following point you should remember:

If you are not grateful for what you have now, what makes you think you’ll be grateful if you have more?

You are very right. Wallace wattles devoted a whole chapter to being grateful. Its importance cannot be over stressed. This is a good reminder.

gratitude is key….not only does it help to attract more abundance, but also helps focus on wanting what we have rather than just having what we want.

Gratitude is a component of a happy life that’s for sure. I have a lot that I’m grateful for but expressing that gratitude is something I think a lot of people (self included) either aren’t good at or just don’t take the time to do.

Gratitude is what keeps people coming back for more. Without it, you have nothing. With it, you have everything.

man is in nature insatiable. We keep on desiring for things we don’t have, and not necessarily need. that’s why we are always unhappy. We should be happy with what we have, its what we don’t have that makes us unhappy..

Thanks for the comment Shenzee. I don’t know if man is by nature insatiable. Many people are happy with what thay have and who they are. If you focus on always wanting then you will be unhappy. Happiness comes from appreciation and gratitude. (You can’t be grateful for something without appreciating it.)

Gratitude is what makes living a contented life. It makes one realize the things one already has.

Gratitude gives people the bright side of life. With it, we learn to appreciate what we have and how blessed we are to have the things that we have, which others don’t.

A great way to improve your day 100% is give thanks for all the little things you have. Show gratitude often and always if for no other reason than it just makes you feel better.
