Personal Development or Virtue in Action

I was rereading The Te of Piglet by Benjamin Hoffman. He explains the Chinese character Te.
“In Classical Chinese, it (Te) is written two ways. The first joins the character for upright to the character for heart. Its meaning is virtue. The second way adds the character for left foot, which in Chinese signifies stepping out. Its meaning is virtue in action.”
Virtue in action. I like that. For me, that’s what personal development is. Virtue in action. We have to to take action in order to grow and develop. It’s been said that the more we are able to step out of our comfort zone , the more we are able to develop. Remember the first time you rode a bike, or jumped into the deep end of the pool. Pretty scary huh? But you did it and it wasn’t to long before you were biking or swimming or whatever it was that was scary but fun to learn. Remember there is virtue in action, and maybe a little bit of fun and personal development too.
